Happy summer everyone, although it’s had a very sad start. On June 27th, the world lost Chris Squire. I can barely put into words how much his music and playing/singing meant (and will continue to mean) to me, and it’s incredibly sad that he died so young at 67. The only good thing is that the legacy he has left will certainly be enjoyed forever. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Here are a few shots I got when he played Hamilton on April 2nd 2014, I think it was the eighth Yes show I’ve seen–I wish I had seen more! It’s good that Chris personally asked Billy Sherwood to take over for him when he knew he was too ill to do the summer tour, so the music will continue to be performed. I really hope to see Yes continue to bring their fantastic music to people in a live setting. And it’s what Chris wanted! 🙂
With the “Ken Baird” stuff, “Martin Road” got some airplay in June in Ottawa, as well as good friend Steve Cochrane when he visited the studios for “La Villa Strangiato” for a chat and to play “co-host”. Thanks to both Greg and Steve!
This summer will be one of much recording for me, and it’s starting to really get going for the next Monarch Trail album.
That’s all for now, hope everyone is doing well!
